My Story
My love for learning ignited during my childhood and continued to grow during my time at Lee University in Cleveland, TN, where I pursued various degrees in education and science. With an Ed. S in Classroom Instruction, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, a B.A. in Secondary Science Education, and a B.S. in Biological Science, I have cultivated a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise in teaching and curriculum design. Throughout my academic preparation, I immersed myself into topics that impact student success such as career and college readiness, school culture, classroom management strategies, the sciences, and health and physical education.
In addition to my academic achievements, my military service played a pivotal role in shaping my character and instilling a sense of discipline and commitment. As a Combat Medical Specialist in the United States Army and Tennessee National Guard, I applied my premed collegiate studies to emergency medicine as I honed my skills in medical triage, treatment, and referral, while also participating in ongoing training and leadership development. This experience taught me the value of teamwork, adaptability, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others.
As I transitioned into the professional realm, I further expanded my skill set and pursued certifications and credentials that would allow me to make a tangible difference in people's lives. With licenses in Educational Leadership and Broad Field Science and subject endorsements in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Health and Physical Education, and Earth and Space Science, I am well-equipped to inspire and educate students. Furthermore, my certifications as an Exercise Physiologist, Personal Trainer, Health Coach, and Corrective Exercise Specialist enable me to guide individuals towards their health and wellness goals, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.
But my story doesn't end with academic achievements and certifications. What truly sets me apart is my genuine warmth and dedication to making a difference in the lives of others. As a high school science instructor, coach, and mentor, I have had the privilege of guiding and inspiring young minds, fostering their love for learning and helping them navigate their educational journey. In the community, I have volunteered my time to deliver presentations on topics such as exercise and nutrition interventions, with the aim of empowering individuals to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
